Charminar Pedestrianisation Project to be completed soon

Charminar Pedestrianisation Project CPP gets a boost from the visit of Min IT and Municipal Admininstration Minister Mr K Taraka Rama Rao.

On Friday Mr KTR along with Mayor, Deputy Mayor and host of MIM MLA's including Mr Ahmed Pasha Quadri who represents Charminar Constituency in the Telangana State Assembly took a whirlwind tour of the area and discussed various steps to be initiated by the State Government for completion of the project started way back in 2000.

The project got delayed due to lack of proper planning and execution by the erstwhile State Governments of formerly Andhra Pradesh State. After the formation of newly carved state of Telangana, Min IT for the first time announced in the Telangana State Assembly during the budget session that Government has planned to execute the long pending Charminar Pedestrianisation Project to entirety within six months.

Minister has requested co-operation from all the Stake holders including shop keepers and residents who will have to accommodate the changes.

Given the density of the shopping area, residential properties and other religious structures it is a challenge to the Government to see to it that project sees light of the day.

Government has set itself a deadline of six months to complete the project.

Flooring has been completed only in the Sardar Mahal Lane and partially on the road leading towards the iconic 16th century monument which is encircled with heavy traffic through out the year and is a major thoroughfare in the Old City of Hyderabad.

Besides the Pedestrianisation Project Goverment must check food adulteration and artificial fruit ripening on a regular basis or set up a permanent outpost for the inspection department within the precincts of Charminar Police Station.

One of the popular food joints for a favorite Hyderabadi delicacy

One of the favorite delicacies of local population here in Hyderabad is the Nahari, Paaya (Goat legs). It is a soup made from goat legs, tongue and head.

The recipe you can find easily on the internet.

Miskeen Hotel is popular and one of the oldest in the Old City of Hyderabad selling this dish.

Chicken Nahari made from chicken legs is also prepared most probably on Saturdays, please check it out with the Vendor.

Nahari, the term is taken from the word Nahar from Arabic meaning early morning. Though it is a early morning recipe, but can be had in the evenings too. Nothing wrong with that.
Nahari is normally served with the Hyderabadi Nizami Naan or can be had with hot Tandoori roti too.

It is especially suited in the winters when the days are cold and if you want to sip a piping hot soup then this is favorite local delicacy.

The hotel is near the High Court, approximately 2 to 3 Kilometers from Charminar.

You have to take the road towards the City College from Pathergatti and it is 100 meters from there.
